"Ed Hoffman doesn't know sh$# until he steals it from the guy on the ground and that's me."I wondered why this movie with Leonardo DiCaprio and Russell Crowe didn't do well at the box office last year and why no one really talked about it. Now I know why.
It wasn't that the movie was bad....per se. I'm going on a limb here, but I think the fact that it was about war in Iran and Jordan didn't sit too well with a post-9/11 audience. DiCaprio plays a CIA operative hired to cease and desist terrorist attacks in Iran and several other middleastern countries, while reporting to Russell Crowe back home in the U.S. As you can imagine, the flick highlights the dangers of the job and of course the political warfare within various countries as well as the subplot of CIA operatives scheming against each other.
However, I gotta admit I fell asleep in the last hour of the movie and had to re-watch those scenes. The plot was a bit entangled and just didn't hold my attention. It was unoriginal and fell flat. Quite frankly, it was a waste of two talented actors.
