First Look: "Case 39"

Bradley Cooper tries to shed his hot jock image as he dives into the upcoming thriller co-starring Renée Zellweger, Case 39. Zellweger stars as a child social worker whose latest case sends her on a dangerous mission to rescue a young female abuse victim whose parents claim she's more ominous than they could ever be. Borrowing themes from last year's Orphan and other similar movies, Case 39 promises to spook moviegoers more than its predecessors when it heads to theaters October 1. Check out the trailer below.

First Look: "Fair Game"
Political thrillers can always go either way: either they wow an audience (The Hurt Locker, Brothers), or don't (Green Zone). But there's no denying that studios are definitely try to tap into what's happening in the world today. The upcoming Fair Game starring Naomi Watts is no different. The Oscar nominee reunites with her 21 Grams co-star Sean Penn as she portrays a wife and mother whose CIA cover is blown by White House officials who plot to discredit her husband for writing an New York Times op-ed piece that claimed the Bush administration manipulated intelligence about weapons of mass destruction to justify the invasion of Iraq. If it wasn't based on actual events, the movie would nearly mimic both The Green Zone and Nothing But The Truth in a way. Fair Game charges into theaters later this year. Check out the exclusive new trailer below.

First Look: "Black Swan"
Check out the latest production by director Darren Arnonofsky (The Wrestler), Black Swan. The twisted, psychological thriller follows the journey of an aspiring ballerina (played by Natalie Portman), who quickly leaps from admiration and descends to the depths of her own hell when her dream role in Swan Lake is hijacked by a rival ballerina (played by Mila Kunis). The two start off as rivals, then try to develop a friendship, which ends with them both being entangled by their own bouts of madness and obsession over trying to outdo the other and please themselves in the process. Leave it up to both Aronofsky a Portman to take a somewhat unoriginal theme of jealousy and madness and turn it into something that is exquisitely beautiful to watch onscreen while also being thought-provoking and sophisticated at the same time. Black Swan, which also stars Barbara Hershey and Winona Ryder, heads to theaters December 1.

First Look: "Love and Other Drugs"
Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway (Brokeback Mountain) reteam as two star-crossed lovers under the influence of cupid in the new romantic comedy Love And Other Drugs. Hathaway plays her usual flighty, somewhat quirky character, Maggie, who meets and falls for Jamie (Gyllenhaal), a corporate shark and playboy who captures Maggie with his endless charm then soon finds himself head over heels. Love And Other Drugs, which also stars the underrated and clearly typecast Judy Greer, hits theaters November 24.
First Look: "The Next Three Days"
Funny gal Elizabeth Banks sheds her comedic skills for the upcoming heart-pounding suspense flick The Next Three Days. Starring as Laura, a wife and mother whose world is turned upside down when she is accused of murder and sent to jail, Banks teams with Russell Crowe (who plays her husband, John) as the couple embark on a relentless pursuit to clear her name and reclaim their life together, at whatever cost. Co-starring Liam Neeson, The Next Three Days hits theaters November 19. Thursday, August 12, 2010
First Look: "How Do You Know?"
Reese Witherspoon goes back to her roots with another lame romantic comedy, How Do You Know. The Oscar winner plays a professional softball player who must choose between two goofballs (played by Paul Rudd and Owen Wilson) who accidentally find out that they are in love with her after much self-deliberation. There's not much else to this snooze of a flick it seems. Check out the trailer below (Try not to mind the random and misused talent of Jack Nicholson). How Do You Know charges into theaters December 17. Thursday, August 5, 2010
First Look: "Burlesque"
Oscar nominee Stanley Tucci oughtta be ashamed of himself for being in this debacle of a film. Luckily Christina Aguilera's powerful singing voice scarcely masks her wretched performance (in just the trailer alone) in the upcoming raunchy dance flick, Burlesque, but not enough to convince anyone she shoudl quit her day job. The Grammy winner stars as Ali, a small town girl desperate to escape a boring life by joining the circus, er, this burlesque troupe rather at a seedy old nightclub owned by Tess (played by Cher). Really shallow theme marked by seemingly shallower performances, Burlesque just looks like a total waste of time. If you have nothing else o do during your Thanksgiving vacation, check out Burlesque in theaters November 24.
