Acclaimed actress Nia Long (Love Jones) plays a Muslim matriarch in the new cultural drama in theaters now, Mooz-lum. Long plays Safiyah, a protective mother coping with her son Tariq's (Evan Ross) moving out of the house to college and to eventually become his own man. But cultures collide when Tariq is forced to defend his culture to the new college crowd in the midst of the 9/11 attacks. Co-starring Danny Glover (The Color Purple, Dreamgirls) and Roger Guenveur Smith (American Gangster, Eve's Bayou), Mooz-lum was released last month on a limited release schedule as per audience demand.
