Adding Noomi Rapace (Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) as a mysterious fortubne teller is a nice to touch for the oddball Sherlock Holmes franchise. But the sequel to the 2009 Robert Downey Jr-led film is still looking just that--odd. Downey and Jude Law (reprising his role as Watson) definitely have undeniable chemistry, but the movie just seems terribly misleading for any true Holmes fan. It does, however, look entertaining and charming. And the franchise clearly has a fanbase. In the new movie, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, Watson and Holmes, threatened by his new nemesis Profesor Moriarty (Jared Harris), must stop the professor from commiting a dastardly deed. Check out the trailer below. Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows hits theaters December 16.
I've kind of detached myself from this being any sort of real adapation of the Holmes novels. I rather enjoyed the first one but the plot was kind of meh, hoping for a better story along with more fun with Downey and Law.
Adding Rapace and Jared Hess seem like excellent choices in my opinion.
The first one was so much fun and this one seems to be going a notch up. Like the chemistry between Law and Downey Jr. and hope they are able to create the same magic again. The pace and the action was highlight of first one ,just hoping they don't compromise to make this one more cinematic. Thanks though been waiting to get a glimpse.
I love Jude Law, but I couldn't stand the first SHERLOCK film. Robert Downey just felt all wrong for the role, and the film just felt like a giant mess (a beautifully scored, and wonderfully costumed mess...but still a mess).

I love Downey and Law, but Sherlock Holmes was a bust for me.
