After subjecting myself to the horrid Legend of Hercules (starring Kellan Lutz) earlier this year, I feel the need to stay away from all future movies about the mythical character until I've recovered from that natural disaster. But, then the new trailer for HERCULES debuted online today, and I totally forgot that this one stars The Rock, er, Dwayne Johnson. So now I feel like I should support my pretend hubby as he tries to protect the earth from CGI creatures.
But note: this trailer looks as ridiculous as you can imagine, with a long-haired Johnson slashing his enemies while donning gold armor and a permanently scowling face. Eh, at least he's all big and sweaty, which is probably the main attraction here, right? I'd think so.
HERCULES is based on Radical Comics’ Hercules by Steve Moore. It is a revisionist take on the classic myth, and also stars Golden Globe Winner Ian McShane, Joseph Fiennes, and John Hurt. (Which really gives it some much needed street cred).

HERCULES is in theaters July 25th.
