I must have completely forgotten about the project--it seems like it's been in the works for years (probably only one, though), because I didn't realize the all-star cast he had lined up for it: Michael Keaton, Naomi Watts, Edward Norton, Emma Stone, Amy Ryan and Zach Galifianakis.
The official synopsis reads as follows: BIRDMAN or The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance is a black comedy that tells the story of an actor (Michael Keaton) – famous for portraying an iconic superhero – as he struggles to mount a Broadway play. In the days leading up to opening night, he battles his ego and attempts to recover his family, his career, and himself.
Watch the teaser trailer:
Is it safe to say that Michael Keaton has had one hell of a career comeback? Though he's always been great, it seems like lately he's appearing in more big name films and people are starting to remember him again. Same goes for Norton, who's always been a phenomenal talent. The trailer is just a tease, because we're not really sure what's going on with Keaton's character. But this is definitely on my radar.
BIRDMAN is in theaters October 17th.

Really looking forward to this, think it should be excellent. I've always enjoyed Keaton but I think this could be a perfect vehicle for his talents.
