First of all, why is this POLTERGEIST remake happening again? Because Hollywood has run out of other ways to crush my soul? I was really trying to hold out hope for this remake, only because Sam Rockwell and Rosemarie DeWitt are in it and I figured they would at least pick an interesting narrative to be involved with. But nope, this looks like the original 1982 film minus the intensity, maternal badassery and terror. So, what's the point?
Even the clown (which horrified me in the original film) looks like a benign puppet and not a maniacal villain who is fully capable of murdering you in your sleep. I mean, LOOK AT IT:
Is this real life? My God, it looks SO BASIC. Here's more about it:
Legendary filmmaker Sam Raimi (“Spiderman," "Evil Dead", "The Grudge") and director Gil Kenan ("Monster House") contemporize the classic tale about a family whose suburban home is haunted by evil forces. When the terrifying apparitions escalate their attacks and hold the youngest daughter captive, the family must come together to rescue her before she disappears forever.
